Almost 10,000 confirmed cases of covid-19 in Ghana

1,840 new cases were reported in the past week since our last update to bring the confirmed case count to 9,910. This is a significant increase from the previous week's increase  of 1,106 (+734) and the increase of 896 (+944) in the week before that.

95% of new cases came from the Greater Accra (65%), Ashanti (17%), Western (8%) and Central (5%) regions.


Western Region continued its rapid increase with cases almost doubling (421 to 769) in the past week.

Volta (76 to 102) and Upper East (26 to 42) also saw relatively large increases as well.

Ahafo remains without any cases. Upper West, North East, Savannah and Bono did not record any cases in the past week.



Update [10-06-2020 12:30am]: The case count has officially passed the 10,000 mark. There are 10,201 confirmed cases and Ahafo Region has reported its first case meaning the virus is now prevalent in all regions in the country.
